This Adjustable Mounting Bracket is perfect for turning a vertical post into a forward-facing backstop for a basketball hoop. One end of the bracket has a section which fits over either a either a 3.5” post (SKU: 542-353), or a 4.5” post (SKU: 542-653). The other end has a square mounting plate with four holes that line up with those found on all SportsPlay basketball backboards, allowing them to be easily bolted together. Between them is a 3’long pipe made from 8 gauge galvanized steel with a 3-1/2” outer diameter. This incredibly sturdy length of pipe is easily strong enough to withstand the weight of the backboard, as well as any dunking players. Its three feet of length also places the backboard farther away from the post, reducing the risk of a player accidentally running into it or colliding with it during a jump shot.
